How difficult is the Maras and Moray ATV Tour?
It’s a moderate adventure suitable for travelers with a reasonable level of fitness. The ATV ride takes you through Andean countryside, with some uneven and unpaved sections along the route.
How long is the Maras and Moray ATV Tour?
The tour takes approximately 6 hours, including transportation, the ATV experience and visits to Moray and the Maras Salt Mines.
Where does the ATV tour start?
The ATV adventure begins at our base in Chinchero, approximately 40 minutes from Cusco. You’ll receive a safety briefing and instructions before starting the ride.
Do I need previous ATV experience?
No. Previous ATV experience is not required. Your guide will explain how to operate the ATV and provide a safety briefing before the adventure begins.
Will I ride the ATV all the way to the Maras Salt Mines?
No. After visiting Moray, we continue by tourist transportation to the Maras Salt Mines, where you’ll have approximately 30 to 45 minutes to explore the area.
Are the entrance fees to Moray and the Maras Salt Mines included?
No. Entrance fees are not included and must be paid separately. Moray requires the appropriate Cusco Tourist Ticket, while the Maras Salt Mines have a separate entrance fee.
Do I get my own ATV?
Yes. Each participant has an individual ATV, along with the necessary safety equipment for the ride.
What should I bring on the ATV tour?
Is the Maras and Moray ATV Tour suitable for children?
The tour can be suitable for families, but children must meet the operator’s age and safety requirements for riding or accompanying an ATV. Please contact us in advance if you are traveling with children.
Can I do the ATV tour if I have just arrived in Cusco?
Yes. However, the tour takes place at high altitude and includes an active ATV experience, so it is best to take it easy, stay hydrated and avoid overexertion during your first days in Cusco.
Can I do the Maras and Moray ATV Tour without a guide?
No. The ATV experience is conducted with a professional guide who provides the safety briefing, leads the route and accompanies you throughout the adventure.
