Itinerary
Maras and Moray ATV Tour — Cusco / Chinchero / Moray / Maras / Cusco
- 8:00 am: Start your ATV adventure! Pick-up from your hotel in Cusco and travel toward Chinchero, approximately 40 minutes from the city. Enjoy the beautiful Andean landscapes as you leave Cusco behind and head toward the Sacred Valley.
- 8:45 am: Arrive at the ATV base in Chinchero. Your guide will provide a safety briefing and explain how to operate the quad bikes before beginning the ride. After a short practice session, get ready to explore the countryside on four wheels.
- 9:15 am: Begin the ATV ride toward Moray, traveling through traditional Andean communities, agricultural fields and spectacular mountain scenery. The route offers an exciting way to experience the landscapes surrounding the Sacred Valley.
- 10:00 am: Arrive at Moray, one of the most remarkable agricultural sites built by the Incas. Explore the impressive circular terraces and learn about their possible use for agricultural experimentation and the adaptation of crops to different microclimates.
- 11:00 am: Continue the adventure through the Andean countryside before returning to the transportation point. From here, we travel by vehicle toward the Maras Salt Mines.
- 12:00 pm: Arrive at the Maras Salt Mines, where thousands of small salt pools cover the mountainside. Discover how natural saltwater flows from an underground spring into the pools, where local families continue the traditional process of harvesting salt.
- 1:00 pm: After exploring Maras and enjoying the surrounding views, begin the return journey toward Cusco.
- 2:00 pm (approx.): Arrive back in Cusco, marking the end of your Maras and Moray ATV adventure.

The ATV adventure begins at our base in Chinchero, approximately 40 minutes from Cusco. You’ll receive a safety briefing and instructions before starting the ride.
Do I need previous ATV experience?
No. Previous ATV experience is not required. Your guide will explain how to operate the ATV and provide a safety briefing before the adventure begins.
Will I ride the ATV all the way to the Maras Salt Mines?
No. After visiting Moray, we continue by tourist transportation to the Maras Salt Mines, where you’ll have approximately 30 to 45 minutes to explore the area.
Are the entrance fees to Moray and the Maras Salt Mines included?
No. Entrance fees are not included and must be paid separately. Moray requires the appropriate Cusco Tourist Ticket, while the Maras Salt Mines have a separate entrance fee.
Do I get my own ATV?
Yes. Each participant has an individual ATV, along with the necessary safety equipment for the ride.
What should I bring on the ATV tour?

Yes. However, the tour takes place at high altitude and includes an active ATV experience, so it is best to take it easy, stay hydrated and avoid overexertion during your first days in Cusco.
