Itinerary

  • 7:00 am: Time to explore the entire Sacred Valley! Pick-up from your hotel in Cusco and begin the journey toward Chinchero, traveling through the highlands above the Sacred Valley.
  • 8:00 am: Arrive in Chinchero, a traditional Andean village known for its Inca terraces, archaeological remains and beautiful colonial church. Explore the site and learn about the community’s traditional textile-making techniques.
  • 9:00 am: Continue toward Maras, traveling through the high Andean landscape with views of the surrounding mountains and Sacred Valley.
  • 9:45 am: Arrive at the Maras Salt Mines, where thousands of small salt pools cover the mountainside. Learn how local families continue to harvest salt using traditional methods.
  • 10:30 am: Continue to Moray, one of the most unusual Inca agricultural sites in the region.
  • 11:00 am: Explore the circular terraces of Moray and learn how the Incas used the different levels and microclimates for agricultural experimentation.

  • 3:15 pm: Begin the journey toward Pisac, following the Vilcanota River through the heart of the Sacred Valley.

  • 5:15 pm: Begin the return journey to Cusco, traveling through the Sacred Valley and over the mountain road toward the city.

How difficult is the Super Sacred Valley Tour?
It’s an easy to moderate day tour with walking at several archaeological sites. There is no strenuous hiking, but some sites have stairs, uneven surfaces and high-altitude terrain.

How long is the Super Sacred Valley Tour?
The tour takes approximately 11 hours, starting at 7:00 am and returning to Cusco around 6:00 pm. The schedule is designed to visit all the main destinations without making the day excessively long.

Are entrance tickets included?
No. The Cusco Tourist Ticket and entrance to the Maras Salt Mines are not included. The Tourist Ticket covers several of the archaeological sites visited during the tour, including Chinchero, Moray, Ollantaytambo and Pisac.
